There is a growing awareness within our community of the lack of facilities for young people between the ages of eleven and twenty five within the Greater Bargoed Area. Churches in Action, is an inter-church organisation, motivated by the desire to live out the Christian gospel, and is seeking to respond to those needs by serving the young people of the area.
Our Aims Are:
- To create a safe and welcoming atmosphere for young people in which they are listened to and respected.
- To provide recreational and educational facilities which would help alleviate boredom and provide a positive social environment.
- To help young people develop their full potential as individuals and members of our society through the activities and facilities the project offers.
In order to achieve these aims, our objectives are:
- To identify and respond to the needs of the young people.
- To offer a suitable building as a base for the project. Including a café, computer suite, multi-purpose room and designated confidential room.
- To provide opportunities through I T for educational and recreational purposes, educational courses and basic computer training.
- To provide opportunities in informal learning, recreation, and personal development.
- To provide opportunities through multi-media for the development of skills and abilities in creativity and expression.
- To liaise with other organisations for the provision of advice on careers, benefits, drugs awareness etc within the Project.
